    Great product. Imagine Dropbox but with much better administrative controls.

    The system works as expected. It's relatively simple to implement and manage. The funcitonality is intuitive. File sharing made easy. Running reports on user permissions is not as straightforward as I would like (i.e., it's not easy to "audit" an individual user's permissions). Probably not a great product if you have multiple users working on the same files simultaneously, but this may be less of a problem if you're using Office 360 (which our office does not use).

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Try to assign and manage permissions by group, instead of user. This makes it much easier to add or remove users.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    It's easy to use.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    It doesn't sync a file in the "Local Cloud" that's open. If I'm working on a file through the course of the day, I have to be sure to close it well before shutting the computer down at the end of the day, otherwise it won't sync.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    I'd like to be able to run a report on any given file or directory to know which users or groups have been assigned read, write, etc. priveliges.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Nothing. We like how it works.

    Implementation and daily usage was great - a few hiccups on the service / performance side

    Their hybrid cloud storage works and works very well, even at high load. Files stay updated out on the cloud within minutes of changing them on the local file server. The web apps and mobile apps were easy to use and intuitive. That being said, there were some hiccups and sometimes their support was questionable. They always wanted to bring down our in-use production servers to even look at the problems, which was not acceptable in our environment. Ongoing sync processes ran well and quickly. Unfortunately after some threshold the devices would give up and do a "rescan" sync that would take 10+ hours to finish. During that time, no new updates were being pushed to/from the storage sync device. We also had a couple of security concerns where users were able to view folders that they were not allowed to from the storage sync device. Egnyte helped us, but ultimately we had to pull sensitive files from the storage sync servers and rely on their cloud-only solution. We chose Egnyte for it's hybrid capabilities. We previously used Dropbox and Box, but had to give them up as they didn't have a reasonable hybrid solution and our data volume was such that they could not keep up with the sync processes.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Give their service a test drive, you will be pleasantly surprised. Their storage sync service is a strong offering, but be careful of putting sensitive data on a shared storage sync device. We never had an issue with permissions on the cloud, but the storage sync was suspect.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    We can have LAN-like access to cloud files with very little oversight from IT

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Their response to critical issues is not as fast as we would expect.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Build a stronger API with more features.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    We would take a deeper look at syncplicity, as the perceived lock-in with EMC scared us away initially. There really isn't a lock-in but we were led to believe that there was. Other than that, we haven't seen another hybrid solution that works as well as Egnyte. We would partition our data better into more storage sync devices to better balance the too-frequent rescan syncs and keep performance levels high for the entire operation.

    Egnyte is an amazing asset for my office and I am very grateful to have it as a tool. It makes it very easy for me to send and share securly as well and tell clients why its a better solution then others. Would never think to use another option.

    Well worth the cost and it actually saves money for our company!

    Wish companies that use other vendors would switch to egnyte so I dont have to bother with using some of the other options when I am on the receiving end.

    Very effective fileshare/sync solution; needs additional multilingual support.

    We have found Egnyte to be an effective solution for file sharing, versioning, backup/recovery, and access from the constraints of VPN from a single workstation. User acceptance of fileshare management by local managers has been spotty, but desireable. Use of linked files was vexing to figure out, but satisfying once we got there. The majority of our user community is French-speaking, and while Egnyte has pledged French support, it's not quite there yet.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Do not under-deploy by assuming end users will embrace the benefits as obvious. Power users generally embraced Egnyte right away as they needed no VPN clients and were able to access their files on mobile devices and home computers. But most uers needed more hand-holding than we gave them.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    We like the freedom of managed services and the superior backup, disaster recovery, and versioning that comes with it. Along with other cloud initiatives we've launched, Egnyte has allowed our analysts to be increasingly focused on business process development and decreasingly focused on babysitting the datacenter.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Setting up desktop sync can be finicky, especially because we have customized it to our environment. We still get numerous help desk calls about Egnyte.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Organizational change management requires more attention both from the service provider and the client. Egnyte could help by coaching the client through an extensive onboarding plan of all users, not just IT and power users. The user experience would have been much better.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    We would engage in a more fulsome deployment, including workshopping of desired departmental fileshare structures and Excel linked files.

    Strong and reliable product with great features.

    Had a great implementation and very good experiences with the product. It's stable, has a lot of features and is easy to use and manage. Support has been good too. While there is a lot of competition in this space, few comes close in terms of reliability.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Defend you're price point and negotiate for a contract with a lengthy price guarantee. While it's lovely that the product is being improved on continously, we don't appreciate the negotiations every time the contract expire.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    That "it just works". Most reliable and easy to use hybrid cloud solution for filesharing we've tried.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    The contract negotiations.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Create a better environment for your clients in terms of cost. The product is great and competitively priced, however the insecurity each contract negotiation creates unnescessary stress.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    We'd spend more time architecting a new folder structure rather than just moving our existing over.

    Hands down the best multi site bi-directional service available for a fair price.

    Egnyte has been intergral to syncing our 3 offices file servers form Coast to Coast. We have real time bi-directional syncing to 5 Servers in 4 different locations across the country. The support is also top notch and fast, resolving issues right away via remote support. We also have unlimited trash, versioning and storage, CIFS remote drive access for OOO use, no VPN software needed.

    If you are looking to sync multiple offices seemleessly, take a look at Egnyte.

    Change the way users are added. Instead of sending invites allow me to have the choice to send an invite or just add the user myslef with password. Not have to setup the account vie the email invite.

    Purchase it sooner.

    Egnyte is very professional and follows many compliance regulations that add trust to all of its relationships with customers.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    There are more uses cases than just one. Egnyte can be very tightly integrated with the use of its APIs, and if you think you've run out of uses for Egnyte, there are five more ready to be discovered.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    I like that we can provide a trusting relationship with potential and current customers, and deliver a secure environment where they can share confidential information.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    We would have built-up more sophisticated permissions/role schemes to further differentiate between different internal users.

    Working with Egnyte has been very positive, they spend a lot of time working with their customers to review adoption and usage of the product and check in regularly to share new features.

    Product works well, although we still need to more fully deploy the add-on features within our organization. The cost position is high compared to consumer file sharing solutions, but there is value in the administration and addon the feature set.

    Great service with no downtime

    We have been with Egnyte for around 7 years. We decided to go with Egnyte based on their architecture and how they enabled us to provide the service to employees. We have never had any issues with downtime or service reliability in the years we have been with Egnyte and utilize many of their newest product offerings.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Make sure you have your permissions architecture set up properly from the beginning. It is much easier to set it up correctly at first than rethink how you want it to work after the fact.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    It serves its purpose exactly as it should and I never have to worry about my users having issues getting the data they need.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Nothing

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Communication could be better when they are changing how they package and sell their features, we have been charged for existing features when they became a new "package" a couple times now.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    I would do everything as we did.

    We utilize both their cloud-based platform as well as their local storage sync. This allows our employees to work on documents locally when in the office which is a huge boost to our productivity.

    Egnyte support is always very quick to respond to tickets and has a very high rate of closing them quickly. My issue is normally resolved upon first level review from their help desk.

    Integration & Deployment - Overall comment

    Our deployment was very easy as we started with the service when they still had somewhat basic functionality. It was very easy to upload the limited amount of data we had into their system.
