    Upgrades have been painful if done prior to service pack 2. Support and product functionality have been excellent.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    once configured properly it does not need a lot of hand holding.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    the GUI runs on java and java upgrades have caused problems in the past.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    wait for service pack 2 before attempting an upgrade to a new version.

    Vendor support following SLA. Product functions as intended. The functional feature can be more simplified and logically.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Beware of the 110 percent ceiling with capacity model. The product will stop working when reach 110 percent of the purchased capacity license.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Product is designed for enterprise backup/retention, covering all required features with dash copies to support business continuity.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    User GUI and flow logic with drill down. Should be more logically and user friendly.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Lift the 110 percent ceiling with capacity licensing model. It will stop the enterprise backup when reach 110 percent. Vendor should perform the annual true up audit with client instead.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    It was cost decision to select existing vendor and upgrade the platform. I would like to see the selection process gone through proper RFP process.

    Commvault reduced our backup time and space requirements.

    The technician that helped with the install was very knowledgeable of the product line and listen to what we wanted versus doing a standard deployment.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    The key to commvault versus other vendors is the storage integration and the space savings. We are backing up 367TB in 71TB of space.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    It made it possible for the group to share the backup responsibilites.

    N/A

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    More training after the implementation.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    We would have looked at more of their products like email archive and bundled in this for a cost savings up front.

    We had a recent bug due to VMware upgrade that broke our differential backups and the support team helped us get the bug fixed immediately.

    The tech was knowledgeable and it just took one week for completing installation from start to finish.

    CommVault's in-house consulting is weak and expensive. Need to leverage third party for additional help.

    Provide a more competent in-house consulting firm.

    Engage third party expertise earlier.

    The vendor was greatly involved in helping us to verify and feel confident about the solution. They have been very good in follow-ups to make sure that we are satisfied and in making recommendations as needed.

    Stay in contact with the vendor and rely on them for suggestions.

    I wish we had more time to evaluate purchase options for data that does not change.

    We should have researched more on the options for data that does not need archiving after a period.

    Product met all the standard requirments. The reporting could see some modification but we still could get the data we needed.

    We had to contact support a few times, but they resolved our issues quickly.

    Total time was one of the quickest we have had. It took less than one month from planning and testing to deployment.
