Troux believer - maximizing the investment to value proposition

We reviewed several different options for EA Tools, but found the Troux SasS model and tool sets, along with their professional services to be the best solution for our enterprise. The Troux team worked closely with our Technology team to identify all of the implementation requirements as well as user training to ensure a solid roll out and ways to develop quick wins to justify the development of an EA program for our organization. Since rollout, the Troux team has continued to provide support and insight on how to best utilize the functionality of the tool, and to continue building on the data capture to allow for additional insight in how to identify areas of the enterprise to target for consolidation and retirement, as well as renegotiation elements during contract renewals.

Personable customer service is their main priority

Overall, I am very satisfied with the product and the company. The shortcomings have been on our side on a cultural need level.

Customizations costly

Customizations are very costly.

Troux met a very high percentage of our requirements without requiring customization.

Troux product is very mature and fits quite well with our organization's requirements. The Plainview team has provided outstanding support both in the installation and deployment of the Troux product, but have also openly considered input from our organization for future product improvements.

Like the Product, but not the sales cycle

Sales experience was subpar. The installation and implementation experience was much better.

Needs a better end user experience but mature product with good analytics

Application product lifecycle management and Technical product standards work well. UI cumbersome for end users

Planview - Troux

Vendor provides excellent support. Learning curve isn't steep but requires customer to figure out what they want to do in order to best align the tool with their needs.

A rich schema and set of capabilities, with a clunky user interface.

The schema is mature and flexible. The tool hasn’t changed much in the last 10 years, so the user experience is clunky contributing to a poor overall user experience. A technology refresh on the user interface would greatly improve the value of the tool. A new insights capability is a step in the right direction.

The scope and breadth of solution advertized was in alignment with our needs in establishing a mature Enterprise Architecture Practice. While the system functionally met the needs, it was quite limited in its ability to deliver the highest level capabilities around modeling, data integration and proper UI design for data stewardship. In addition, the licensing model was in poor alignment with the federated data stewardship model we intended on employing. In the end, we divested ourselves after only 2 years.
