Cityworks is small enough that we feel we have a voice at the table. Their development leverages ESRI GIS which is a key requirement for us. Cityworks AMS is a very strong CRM tool. We implemented Cityworks PLL when it was a newer product. We've benefited by seeing some of our ideas become reality, However, the PLL development has in the past lagged behind Cityworks AMS. However, they are working to catch up and we are seeing some strong improvements.
Review and adapt department business processes early on to take advantage of the technology. Make certain that everyone knows the value of accurate and complete data.

some screens and processes are not intiutive. There are times when it seems as though the developers are not keeping end users in mind.
Replied to the RFP with a plan for implementation of PLL.
Sensed the end user's strong opposition to change early on and budgeted for a 3rd party implementation firm with experience with this product. This would have allowed City IT staff to maintain a supporting role versus a disrupting role. It also would have increased the buy-in, because end users (and their managers) would have been hearing from someone they perceived as an expert, versus just the IT guys down the hall.
