The product offered cloud deployment and was seamless to implement.
Evaluate multiple vendors and try to work with manufacturers or service providers.
Cloud deployment. Seamless. Reliable.
Better customer involvement.
Work with the vendor regarding the roadmap and understanding the depth of all use cases that MDM would meet.

Off premise solution allowed for quicker deployment
Product has great reporting features. Would like to have automated generated custom reports via portal not via API.
availability for regular meetings to cover issues, enhancments and questions.
effective and efficient and willing to customize features if needed.

Good collaborative approach; lots of technical information provided on product experience in deployment etc. Would have liked more on the benefit case.
Communication and usage policy is critical. Mobile devices (even if corporate owned) become very PERSONAL. I can take the ERP and email service down and that would have less impact on users than touching their mobile devices!

This is a very easy system to use. My initial purchase was with Fiberlink, the original creators of the application. They were very attentive to the implementation and deployment. IBM has not been as good with their support.
Utilize their deployment services fully. Spend a lot of time on the phone learning all there is about the product.
Ease of use.
The connector of the service side can be a bit unpredictable.
More support personnel.
Deploy to desktop devices as well.
Support has dwindled since IBM purchased the company. It is harder to get to the right person and often I have to request another tech.
They had dedicated staff for the implementation.

We had success with the implementation teams but were challenged at times managing the integration capabilities with legacy services. If we were on current services / products I would of rated this a 5.
If you have legacy services / products go deep on the integration requirements you have to ensure the process goes smoothly.
Mobile platform that meets security and compliance requirements, while matching user experience needs of the company.
More upfront help with defining requirements for integration - we didn't know what we didn't know.
In contract negotiations we would have aligned tighter on language of requirements and SLA's for integration capabilities.
The browsing capability can be clumsy at times but it meets the need. There are glitches at times where users calendars are not synched up with the thick client calendar - have the support team working on this one - may be driven from our legacy services / products.
It was tough to integrate with Lotus Notes - other platforms seem to be easier.

Software is designed to wipe phones in case of loss. Haven't used capability yet.
Deploy this software on devices before deployment to end users.
This product is intended to protect agency data if phones are lost or hacked. It's a product you hope you don't have to use.
This was deployed through third party.
Install product on mobile devices prior to deployment.
not much experience with product yet

Overall positive experience, implementation straight forward, first line support is spotty.
Make sure you keep your "demo" environment active to test different policy configurations.
Like the admin console, bulk add features, and default reporting.
Support from the vendor needs improvement - they need to get their support staff on the same page.
Better online support. Online chat is almost never helpful. We seem to find more answers by just Googling over contacting support. We have gotten different answers on technical issues from different vendor support personnel.
Spend more time planning policy/persona standards. We have a hybrid BYOD/corporate owned device/user base and changed our strategy on the default mdm policy mid way through deployment. We now have a gap in the number of corporate owned devices with the correct MDM policy - too many devices defaulted to BYOD.
Product has all our required features. Looking forward to touch ID authentication to the container.
This is the area in need of most improvement with this product.
We did have our license expire a few times before we got a permanent production one.

Working with Fiberlink/IBM has overall been a good experience. We are still in the process of rolling out the MDM capabilities to end users, however are ramping up our efforts.
Don't underestimate the amount of work going into implementing a MDM solution. If you are implementing the application catalog/MAM portion - ensure that you have a mobile strategy in place for developing and rolling out enterprise applications. This is one area where we have struggled.
Meets our needs thus far, fairly easy to implement.
MaaS360 seems to be slightly behind the curve on the MAM side of things with regards to other vendors. However this is just my perception - they are constantly updating their product. There were some gaps where we had to work with the product team to implement features that didn't work fully - Android/iOS WebClip/WebApps. Initially they only supported iOS only. We needed both. There also seems to have been stability issues with their Android Agent. It has gotten better over time, but seemed surprising that the Android portion wasn't as flushed out as the iOS side of thing.
Offered more direct training to our implementation team. Also, our technical engineer switched mid implementation which was a bit painful.
We underestimated the push back from employees using their BYOD devices to actually enroll their devices in the MDM solution. There were privacy concerns that we had to circle back around with and create more clear communication in order to ease end user questions.

Maas360 is a good entry level EMMS product with most of the basic required functionality. Seems to have not progressed as quickly as many of the other vendors.
Test for all of your devices and a large number of scenarios.
Cloud based (no on-site infrastructure required). Low cost
We have had issues with devices not enrolling properly, resulting in the need to re-enroll. Cannot remove devices - only hide.
Progress the product in a more timely manner.
Focus less on cost and more on company vision. Perform more testing.
While the product had a wide breadth of functionality to match the industry at the time of purchase, they have been slower to progress the functionality than their peers.
Most support has been via chat and forum posts. This has been reasonably effective, some incidents have taken longer to resolve than desired. Phone support is available for critical incidents. The forum has since disappeared, which is unfortunate.
Deployment was straight forward and was fairly rapid. Once we added the optional cloud extender, there were some additional challenges.
