As a traditional network firewall, SRX provides very good performance and stable environment, the implementation is easy and it doesn't have any compatible issue with a different brand of networking devices. For the part of the application identification, Juniper should pay for an effort of application signatures and identification, they can do much better.

Actually two key suggestions - Leverage ExpressPath on SRX High-End models to achieve significant capacity increases and latency reductions which are consistent across packet sizes. Enable this at the per-rule level using apply-groups - Deploy SRX in a chassis cluster with Redundant Ethernet Interfaces for optimal redundancy and seamless failover whilst leveraging dynamic routing protocols for route exchange (eliminate burdonous static routing on your firewall clusters)
