We implemented all core planning models internally without professional services. This includes headcount planning, bookings, revenue, and Opex with line item details as well as full P&L with financial reviews using commentary and exports. SAC is relatively intuitive and the overall system performance has improved significantly since our implementation.

When we implemented SAC, we recognized that it was not the market leader at the time, but we were convinced that the product's planning capabilities would surpass the competition within the next few years. As I write this, I still see room for improvement, but I also keep track of the other systems that we evaluated and am confident we made the right choice.

SAC is a quite powerful tool. It allows to model "business users" without detailed IT knowledge. We implemented our first solution with external support and now the update can be done by business department. Our IT is only involved for the organizational aspectcs (transports, user access).
Really helpful is the strong intergation to the SAP BW landscape. This reduce the effort for creating dashboards in SAC.
Also supprising is the support we get from SAP. Normally we expect that SAP reacts slow and everything requires time but in SAC we now see that SAP can work agile and fast.
Also impressive is the development speed of the software. Every 3-months you get an automatic update. After one year working in SAC none of the updates cause any trouble but often we now realized that things which where not possible last year are now possible.

Excellent integration with existing investments in SAP ecosystem. This is our critical point for choosing it. Implementation time was and is very fast with good results right from the beginning. Possible to onboard users from business for creating smaller scenarios. However, also more sophisticated processes possible with API integration and programming, if needed.

SAC has made major strides in improving the planning capability over the years.  Major improvements like multi measure models has enabled us to address major pain points like currency conversion.  However, lack of operational support for back end issues has sometimes meant delays in getting issues addressed.

It supported several use cases (complex and simple) and had a very good answer to standard and individual requirements. The implementation time was very promising and the flexibility/customizability of the product was keeping the balance between complexity and cost-efficiency. There was not for every requirement a silver bullet, but design patterns that could show an reliable alternative.
