    Good PMO tool, but needs to incorporate Agile and other methodologies.

    Overall Comment

    Overall OPPM has been a very valuable tool within our organization, however there are limitations to the software that we find challenging. Namely that trying to setup projects taht utilize an agile methodology are difficult to track in this tool. We have found the status reporting to be very useful from a PMO, in order to escalate issues to management in a timely manner. Also the budget tracking has been very useful.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    It is a great tool that truly allows a company to get a quick snapshot of OPPM, along with general status for management to see the progress of a projects, also to identify the pain points that need escalation/input from management. The software does have its limitations in managing agile projects, as there is no methodology that suits this effort.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Ease of use.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Nothing I haven't stated previously.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Provided a more customized handbook of our OPPM installation.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Try to find a tool that incorporates a bug tracking tool, in addition to all the methodologies that we utilize, such as agile and waterfall.

    I would recommend the product, just not the trainers.

    The training services were not the greatest. Users felt that they were rushed and their concerns weren't addressed.

    Make training requirements for the vendor.

    Oracle made a plodding product even slower through bureaucratic nightmare to get support.

    Note very agile. Good for long, old style waterfall SDLC development. Big construction projects.

    Only use for slow business units that don't need an agile environment.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    project schedules and budgets tied together in one place.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    A lot of effort to sync up information. Needs specialized subject matter experts. Take Project Managers away from managing projects.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Respond better to mid-market and smaller enterprises. Oracle staff very demotivated changes all the time.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Select a more agile product.

    The tool does the job, but may not fit perfectly into a complex environment.

    This product was purchased by Oracle, just after we signed the paperwork to implement the system, which made it difficult to map out our strategy since the vendor roadmap was no longer clear. The biggest challenge we faced was simplifying complex internal processes to the point that they could be recreated in the system.
