    More powerful then our initial needs, but with this toolset the possibilities are endless.

    Overall Comment

    Informatica is a complete and trusted partner. The professional services team are all highly skilled and bring a breadth of knowledge and experience to the table. We will have only implemented one domain (customer) at the end of the year and they will stay on to help guide the beginning of our next domain utilizing the operational framework they have created for us. The application (MDM Multi-Domain) has more power and functionality in it then we may ever fully use, but the possibilities are there and seamless integration to all of our other Informatica tools is a great benefit. Any weaknesses to-date have been on our internal side/teams.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Ensure that you have a someone that has deployed MDM from a business/functional perspective as they will know what your really have to do, what can be phased in, and what items arent necessary for what your business is trying to accomplish. It should drive to the strategic goal of the MDM implementation.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    It is seemlingly created from a business process perspective (people and process) instead of just a tool one (technology)

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    If you cannot get the business to re-engineer some of their processes to fit a best practices perspective it will require either customizations to the tool or licenses to their BPM tool in order to modify the workflow.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Push back a little harder and challenge us to think outside the box.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    There are several things we would do differently and we will when we begin the next domain: 1) While Informatica has been an invaluable partner their specialty is in the implementation of their software and the best practices that surround that tool. We needed to ensure we had someone on business/functional side that has implemented MDM in an organization in order to guide us through all of the business pieces that needed to be accomplished; 2) Always ensure you have a value proposition, business drivers, and critical success factors. MDM on its own is an enabler to other things so you must undertand what those "other things" are; 3) Have complete business buy-in. IT should not be driving the MDM Strategy, if they are you should take a step back and ask yourself why? They re-engage the appopriate executive level's to reassess if the company is ready for this challenge. 4) Do not try and "boil the ocean" on your very first outting. Break your implementation into phases so that both the IT team and the business sponsors are seeing wins along the way.

    Time to value seems like it will be long. Pricing model was confusing. Technology is powerful and easiy to implement.

    Where's the link between glossary and lineage?

    We are pleased with the products but have experienced some difficulty to maximize functionality. The implementation was the result of internal operations adoption of governance; however, the roles and responsibilities of users of tools were not clearly identified to the task level.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    I strongly advise having conversations with the business and data owners to strategize.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Maintenance is easy and support is excellent.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    I could really use a sample RACI and best practices for maturing the MDM.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    I'm finding other companies are struggling to implement MDM successfully. This is a partnership between IT and business partners to identify community of stewards, data owners and IT to plan together and move forward.

    I would like to see the production more cloud friendly (Thing PaaS or internal cloud)

    Our technology implementation got ahead of our data governance implementation. If we were to do again we would make sure governance has some maturity first.

    Informatica has been responsive when we faced challenges with the product to functionality constraints or defects.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    If using vendor professional services for implementation, ensure that sufficient knowledge transfere is taking place with internal staff. The cost of maintaining a professional services long term relationship was cost pervasive for our organization.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Enterprise performance and stability.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Lack of cross instance integration capabilities out of the box. It requires custom development to share data across implementations.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    More functional engagement along with the techinical implemention.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Work more closely with the venfor to define the application roadmap and implementation to support scalability required in the acquisition of new businesses.

    focus on the most valuable business use case, build success - nail it and scale it.

    support, ease of use and listen's to the customer feedback on how to make it better.

    Upgrades can be lengthy.

    they were a valued partner, had architecture reviews, and implementation developers, loved their customer success team!

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Build more internal expertise in DQ/MDM applications. Did an upgrade and project the same time should have done them independently.

    I would like to see them add more business process capabilites. 10.0 integrates DQ with MDM which is a big win Also focusing more on the big data strategy

    As a premium customer we received good support from Product vendor. Past experiences drove good relationship. Vendor partnered with us heavily to bring in additional functionalities that tool could offer and it was relatively faster (could be better).

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    before you purchase and install the product, please understand full raod map. Develop a end vision on where you want to be 3 to 5 years from now. Define a strong business data structure. Once you have this in place, you will find its easy to buld the technical plan. Otherwise, you see project dragging, going over budget. Informatica consultants are not cheap. You're paying them while you're deciding the business goal.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Flexibility of the product I like, gives me a framework, where I can paint my own art. Things I didn't like is, availability of training material. Informatica is too poor in getting those to the customers. A great product can grow more if there is available information. For example 10.1 relased a year ago, still you can't find training in their Informatica University.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Non-availability of training material. Please please please improve the pace. Some cumbersome integration for realtime orchestration, have noticed this hits on performance of data transaction. Need to optimize this heavily.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    train their consultants to be agile for data modeling, I noticed their consultant's comes to the table with some preset mind. Vendor should consider, that each business is unique, not all the time one size fits all will work even in the same industry.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    setting up a goal with product vendor and share with them our vision. Helps to establish a better product functionality upfront rather than raising it as an issue with product during course of project timeline.

    3.5 to 4 is what I will rate. Informatica should also focus on encouraging User Community groups and some regional conferences . This can help building the quality resources at affordable costs in specific targeted region.

    Complex implementation, but needs better user Interface

    It was complex implementation with the amount of data we stored specifically D&B and to be able to publish the Master attributes back to the Source systems. As we also had the Informatica Powercenter & Informatica DataQuality we were able to integrate the components together with ease.

    Sequence the data that gets into your system.

    Easy to work with.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Ability to work with User Interface IDD for large volume of data.

    Provide better user interface.

    More diligence in terms of understanding third party D&B data
