    Informatica MDM - never too many questions

    we have continue to have contract confusion

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    be prepared to be agile and your plans. We have changed course a few times from our original intent once we learned more about the product.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    remains to be seen, but vision of company is attractive

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    lack of clarity with definitions and costs

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    go slower

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    we have had significant confusion on the contract terms and product functionality, so you can not ask enought questions about licensning and other uses for MDM that are not yet mainstream

    PIM for Today's Market Needs

    I am very satisfied with the product and Informatica support

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Data organization takes longer than anticipated. That is why we were buying PIM...because we needed a way to organize our data. Agreeing upon how to organize data and who is responsible for that data takes longer than anticipated.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Web previews that display product data as the customer would see it.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Business Client does not allow mass edits. Example would be the ability to enter a single field value for a group of items.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    We feel they oversold the initial workflow system. They have since replaced the original workflow with a far superior system.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Throughout the process it would have been wonderful to agree more quickly on a few decisions. As an example the number of products that were entered into PIM changed from only entering main sellable end items to entering all of our products including sub-assemblies and hardware. This decision would have been better if it was made earlier. Getting the buy in and agreement would have been executed differently.

    We are very happy with PIM. It meets our business needs to organize our product information.

    Service & support - overall comment

    Informatica's support service and community are a wonderful resource. They respond quickly to questions. They are continually updating and improving product documentation. They provide answers that solve the situation OR they submit it to research and development to be implemented in a future release.

    when hotfixes, EBFs reeased , it becanme apprent that regression testing wasnt solid

    beware of what is included and what is a 'licensable option'

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    that it is multi domain

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    incompatibility with latest technologies, is lagging too far behind.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    better internal testing

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    ensure working more closely with both vendor and 3rd party, rather than just 3rd party during implementation

    ActiveVos is a new product and not ready for a company our size.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Hold the vendor accountable to the requirements. Level set expectation and don't allow vendor to address the business without company IT involvement.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Strong MDM hub configurability. ETL, PowerCenter, Data Quality is strong and flexible.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    The new workflow ActiveVos is not ready for use in large companies.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Fully vet their solution for the size of organization. Do not over promise a solution that cannot be delivered.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Ensure that the vendor fully understands the requirements and do not allow them to over promise capability.
