    The support and inovaton to meet the needs of making the application a complete success is second to no.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Don't be afraid to ask questions, alwasy have been willing to help solve problems. Very customer focused company.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Easy to use, easy to develop with (a lot of pre written code with the ability to customixe as needed) .

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Can't think of anything regarding this.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Have a better road map laid out before starting development.

    Excellent feature-rich platform, always innovating whilst remaining responsive to users

    Overall Comment

    Support has been excellent, very responsive. Where there have been issues with the release of new functionality, feedback has always been acted on very promptly with fixes being deployed within 1-2 days in most cases. Although the platform is not yet as widespread as others, there is a very strong developer community and fellow practitioners are always willing to assist in a spirit of co-operation.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Get involved with the community early on! Plenty advice is available on best practice in a number of real world use cases.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Flexibility - the 'code-optional' approach - meaning that a basic app can be built very quickly, but complex functionality can also be added to supply a completely bespoke product as the business demands.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Reporting functionality, which is a little less polished and easy to use than the rest of the featureset.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Reporting functionality could do with updating, and documentation for older functionality can sometimes be a little tricky to find, though that has improved over the last two years.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Seek out forums earlier, take up more mentoring time to accelerate product knowledge even quicker.

    An excellent platform for creating integrated web and mobile apps

    Alpha provide a platform that you can get up and running in a matter of a few days. It took us only three weeks to get our web app built and tested. The security framework Alpha have implemented is one of the best I've come across and it takes only a few hours to implement it.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Just spend more time on designing your data structure properly.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Easy to use and rich with features.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    We think we took the right approach. There's nothing we'd change at the moment

    Of all the products I reviewed, Alpha Software stood out as a progressive customer oriented company that had been in the market for a very long time and had continued to evolve and remain relevant with an affordable yet extremely powerful solution in Alpha Anywhere.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Work with Alpha, reach out to them. They are fantastic with keeping in touch with you. They held several conference calls with us and various members of the Alpha Team to address all of our concerns. From day 1, they provided us with the most comfort in terms of establishing a trustworthy long term relationship. One issue I tried to address sooner rather than later was cost. Many vendors would not provide me with an estimate of cost. I knew what my budget was and so I was leary spending time with Vendors who were not upfront about estimating a cost to use their product. I did not have to worry about this with Alpha, their prices are clearly visible on their website and from that fundamental starting point, all future correspondence with them always seemed upfront and honest as if they had nothing to hide and were proud to put it all out there. I was put in contact with different specialists depending on my concern and each time I was impressed with the response. I really thought they were going to start getting annoyed with me because I put them through such a vetting process, but they graceously addressed each and every concern and always asked what else I needed to see.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    The employee and development community involvement. They hold weekly webinars to demo a feature, answer questions, their site is loaded with videos, documentation, sample code, and a user message board. Their is no sense of being on your own, someone most likely has either provided a video, article or message board post to deal with issues as you continue on your mastery of the product. This was very important to us. We didn't want to buy a product and develop on our own island. A community approach to solving problems is something we received as an added bonus for choosing Alpha.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    I am somewhat new to the product and still in the honeymoon phase so it really is too early to have any strong dislikes. I anticipate little change in this area having spoke with other users who have a longer history with the company and the product.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    So far I have not encountered any issues with the Vendor.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    We took a lot of time evaluating various RAD solutions. Our initial gut feeling was to go with Alpha Software, but we then spent an additional 4 months exploring alternatives only to confirm our gut intuition that Alpha Anywhere was the perfect tool for needs. I don't know per say I would do that differently or that the time spent was a waste of time, but losing 4 months of development and vetting so many different companies was no small feat. Alpha seemed right from the get go but we didn't want to make any rush decisions. I guess it was time lost but it also confirmed our initial feelings that Alpha would be the best alternative based on our needs analysis.

    Alpha Anywhere allows to build and deploy mobile apps quicker than almost anything else.

    Overall Comment

    The company has been great to work with. They are very responsive. Alpha Anywhere allows us the ability to build cross-platform mobile apps quickly and easily, at very little cost. Attending their user conference was a joy as it was very easy to interact with key company members.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    A word of warning, not about the software, but about mobile app development in general. Have strong processes for app development and app deployment in place early on. This will help you be successful with mobile apps.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    The videos are an amazing aspect. You can watch them and really get an idea of what you can do with the product. They can be even more helpful than the support forums. The ability to immediately see the results of your development without having to deploy the code to a mobile device is very nice.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    With V4 the PhoneGap Shell concept comes into being. This allows you to easily view changes even when the code calls PhoneGap APIs.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Prior to the V4 release the online help documentation was lacking. But this has been greatly improved with the V4 release. The videos, while having a lot of potential, sometimes reference old versions and there is a difference in UI between the video and your screen.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Talk to Gartner earlier on in the process about good fitting solutions for our needs. We spent quite a few months kicking the tires on other solutions, only to be disappointed again and again.

    We are very impressed with Alpha Anywhere. It allows to quickly develop and deliver mobile apps that integrate with our existing systems. It has allowed us to move off the starting blocks and deliver mobile apps.

    Overall, AlphaAnywhere is a great product with a great company behind it.

    Overall Comment

    AlphaAnywhere was a great product choice for our company. We rebuilt our MS Access desktop app into a web based SaaS app and AlphaAnywhere proved to be just what we needed. It has automation for many tasks (such as automated Javascript tasks) but also the ability for us to custom code when we want. Alpha Software (the company) continually adds new features based on market trends so we are quite happy with that. They are also responsive to issues that come up in the developer community (there is an active support board). I would highly recommend this product (and do) to anyone who asks what we use.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Don't expect any software program to be able to do everything. We selected AlphaAnywhere because it matched the majority of our needs and it has lived up to expectations (and then some). Yes there are times when a workaround is required but that is true with every software program.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Depth of features.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Documentation (although the company is working on correcting this and there are a lot of resources on the web).

    Surprising powerful and complete

    Our firm focuses on leading edge solutions for multi-location manufacturers and Alpha has consistently shown that they are willing to make the intellectual investment to make the software perform as required in commercial environments. Our experience with other development tools is that they could hand the simple requirements but the development effort to handle more complex requirements required a signficant amount of coding along with introducting 3rd party components which unnecessarily would increase the risk of a deployment.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    The real advantage of mobile is integration to your backend systems. This offers you tremendous efficiency from sales, to warehousing to production. So never look at the investment simply on the device itself because if you do so, you may not be impressed.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    The incredible responsiveness of the top people at Alpha when critical issues are identified. Alpha is second to no one in this regard. Issues identified are normally addressed within days.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    The system does not conform to standard Microsoft methodologies which has both it's advantages and disadvantages. Due to the size of Microsoft their is a large pool of people with Visual Studio backgrounds. Alpha doesn't have the same depth of resources to hire.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    My preference is for a more structured vendor technical support. But the support resources we have had experience rank amongst the top of my experience.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    First, you have to make sure you invest the appropriate amount of time to educating yourself. Moving into a mobile application development paradigm will require many, many months of education, experimentation and rewrites. Our initial plans were overly optimistic. Leverage experienced consulting resources as much as you can to help shorten your education cycle.

    Solid and feature-rich platform, still expanding with features at an amazing pace, professional services and close support.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Spend some time with the various parts of the platform before actually starting building - there's a lot to see and the amount of functionality that is built-in or within easy reach is amazing.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    The combination of ready-to-use functionalities with the ability to dive deep and code the rest yourself.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Platform documentation is scattered. This is offset by video tutorials which are numerous, short and to the point, but it would help to consolidate the information textually in one location.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Nothing.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Organize daily 'standup' meetings with external development teams from Day 1. Carefully review and decide on team collaboration tools.

    Easy to implement and use

    Alpha Anywhere is a great product that is easy to learn. The few times we have run into a limitation, we have shared that with Alpha, and they have included enhancements in their next releases for the majority of our reported limitations.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Spend time making sure you have good data structures. Alpha is very easy to use when attaching to good data structures. Also if you get stuck, use the help avenues that Alpha has provided.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    I like the ease of use, and the speeds with which we can develop software using this tool. Time is money, so saving time saves money.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    The online help documentation as listed above.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    The online help documentation is sometimes hard to search. If/when they enhance that, thing will be even better.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    If I could go back in time, I would have more members of my staff start using Alpha sooner than they did.
