    Extreme NAC implementation quick review.

    Overall Comment

    Extreme Networks is a very easy partner to work with. We do have Extreme resellers, but Extreme found that having their engineers working directly with us would greatly benefit us as customers. We adapted NAC as part of a much larger portfolio of products and services and it has proven to be a great acquisition. The deployment was planned 6 months out and took 1 month to implement. We found a caveat that we didnt expect and that was that jumbo frames were not supported in the release we bought. Extreme worked with us to find a solution in the interim while the code upgrade addresses the shortcoming we found.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Have a thorough design session with the vendor/partner to make sure it integrates with your environment in order to minimize problems during deployment.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Everything. It is responsive, it is fast, has great flexibility and works great in our environment. It is much more reasonably priced compared to others (such as Cisco) and the licensing cost is also more accesible.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Nothing so far, we're only starting to use it to its full capability.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Nothing. They were onsite, they were extremely responsive and adapted quickly to issues when they arose. We had full TAC support along side the engineer and corrections were done extremely quickly.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Have Extreme vet our design to make sure that all aspects of the integration are accounted for.

    Once you dive into the product it is an easy transition.

    solid product with robust features.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    In our case the easy and favorable item is that the mother organization is using it so we can share the policy and rule sets within.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    not applicable; our existing product was EOL so no comparisons to make.

    no comments.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    none.
