    Challenges working within existing IT operations team and communicating vendor requirements.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Do research on how the implementation impacts existing Computer Operations.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Usability.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Configuration challenges.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Explain their requirements for implementations on-premise, specifically OS package management.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    A lot more planning with the vendor on their implementation processes.

    Implementation was easy but day to day management is complex.

    Good vendor to work with, provided the right resources with the right technical expertise.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    The product needs constant monitoring and support in terms of configuration, tuning and optimizations. There are few challenges integrating with other products within the ecosystem.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Affordable, scalable solution.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Upgrade are not easy. Support is not always the best.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Have strong partnership with other vendors/products e.g. Informatica, Microstrategy.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Have strong internal Admins with expertise with the solutions. Learn as you go does not work.

    The product implementation went fine, we transformed our end-user relation through it.

    Overall Comment

    Very usefull product, it follows standard Hadoop distribution and provides great value to our business.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Make sure you understand the security concepts and mechanisms of the product.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    We were able to quickly show to the business the added-value of some of the data they weren't using before.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    The security and segregation mechanisms.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Not much as for Hortonworks.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    We would probably review the way the partnership with a 3rd party vendor that helped us integrate the product. Particularly the security implications of hosting infrastructure on their premises rather than ours, as we had to re-internalise things following the evolution of the type of data handled.

    Deployment went fine. We avoided high difficulty that we could have faced by internally training our IT team, by using a 3rd party provider to help us with the integration.
