Retail Distributed Order Management (DOM) Systems Reviews and Ratings

What are Retail DOM Systems?

Retail Distributed Order Management (DOM) systems use rule-based procedures to determine how best to fulfill customer orders — a key consideration for balancing both fulfillment lead times and retailer's costs. The purpose of a DOM application is to allow retailers and CP companies to maximize order fulfillment while balancing two constraints: the customer expects their order to be fulfilled on time and in full and the company wishes to meet these customer expectations but at the lowest possible cost of order fulfilment. The DOM therefore, looks to orchestrate and optimize the process of customer order fulfillment through managing these constraints and without having to trade off one over the other.

"Great Order Management tool"

We use Kibo mainly because it offers the possibility to offer a functional multichannel solution to our customers. We have tried with another platform before but it did not offer what we were looking for: precision and reliability. With Kibo we have found both of them! The platform offers a clear way to communicate within the shipping locations (in our case the wareused and the stores) and the information is updated very fast. After the initial set up is done, it is very easy to learn to use the platform so we did not have to spent time to do long training sessions to our employees, they were able to start working with it just with a few ours of introduction and training. The dashboard is very clear and the different order status/cases are separated in queues so on a first sight, it is easy to understand where are the urgencies or the orders needing manual intervention. Kibo also offers reporting tools but on my opinion, they should be improved as at the moment they are not very customizable.

"Good tools for consilidated Order processing "

Over experience was good. we had used the tool for order consolidation for our marketplaces. This has helped us to easily adopt to the changes in the marketplaces and operate the volumes quite easily. It helped us to overcome to issues which we were facing earlier and reach scale. Their service was good. On-boarding a new marketplace was made easy for us where it is a plug and play model with them.

"Very easy and efficient add-on to install to help further enhance online retail business"

We are using Magento in our online portion of retail business to ensure management of orders and stay organized. It is a really efficient add-on to help with making adjustments to orders and customize items pictures etc. It allows you to instantly remove items from order organize them accordingly and it will automatically adjust the prices tax etc. It gives you full details on partial or completed orders, you are able to see the customers information as well as updates to their information that can be given to them. Magento helps with keeping customers happy with accurate shipping times and dates so you are able to push older shipments which have been overdue and inquire about them. The only takeaway would be that its an add-on rather then included with magento, it is a cost that could be avoided.
