We implemented ESA and Cloud a while back. We recently added there AMP and Threatgrid licenses to the product. Since we had turned those up and had the security settings tuned, we have seen a significant reduction in malware and phishing emails (URL or attachment based. There were some AMP/Threatgrid integration issues that have required product bug fixes released, but once stable it has worked really well.
Since turning on AMP and Threatgrid, we have seen a significant reduction in malware.
Better up front support.
Make sure the product was fully baked. Get formal training for the Ops team.

Works mostly as expected and intercepts unsolicited emails.
It would be helpful if the gateware gave the user an easy to configure process over e-signature and opt-in vs opt-out controls

Cisco technical support has definitely improved over the past few years. They offer great customer support and are very knowledgable with their product line.
Look at all of the alternatives for your environment to see what works best -- physical, virtual and hosted/cloud.
Easy to learn, good documentation.
Virtual option is still not yet supported on the latest VMware platform (6).
Provide additional training and offer either free vouchers for it or towards certification exams.
Nothing, I'm happy in the state that we are in and don't have any regrets on the technology solutions that we put into place.
Service and Support from Cisco is great.

Product can scale to a large environment. New security capabilities to address emerging risks are included in new releases. At time difficult to get consistent answers from Cisco how to enable new functionality.
Understand your capabilities and do not over extend.
Flexibility and ability to scale. Ability to develop different types of policies.
Do not find out until last minute what the new releases will include.

Extremely easy to implement. Does what we need it to. Good results with filtering spam while keeping false positives low.
Don't overthink it.
It is easy.
Administration is in a completely different interface.
Integrated into a common dashboard with their other security products.
Understand the quarantine process better and what options we have for messages in the quarantine.
Deployment was easy. I wish it integrated with some of their other products better.

Get a better understanding of the production roadmap as the solutions get bundled and the overall cost increases over the years.

Excellent functionality, flexible, granular configuration options, simple administration, good technical support.
SPF check function in content filter is broken when default SPF check settings are in use. Very easy to create custom filter to do the check.
Very flexible, configuration can be simple or complex base on the requirements.
