Seamless integration and virtually no issues. Mature and proven technology that simply works. Setup was well managed by Mimecast as was the handover to service. Most encouraging was to receive new functionality to counter the changing threat landscape as part of the service rather than at additional cost. I do feel that there could be better reporting which would be the only downside to an excellent product that works well with light touch configuuration and without a raft of false positives.

Rollout took longer than I had anticipated, but the setup process on their end was much more time consuming than ours. From the time we signed the contract to actually using the service took about three weeks. We noticed an immediate difference in the number of spam messages making it to our inbox (we had zero spam in our inbox after the transition.) Mimecast offers a lot of other services that we take advantage of like Large File send and Encryption. They also allow for a very customized setup. One feature that has been very helpful to us is meta tag stripping. This feature searches through outgoing attached documents and strips out and document tracking information. For law firms this is a very useful feature. After we moved our email from on-premises to Office 365 we looked at upgrading to the E5 subscription on Office 365 for the added features, but found that using Mimecast's service was actually cheaper than upgrading our Office 365 subscription to E5. We continue to use Mimecast in conjunction with Office 365 mail.

We were using the McAfee Email Firewall and Encryption before they decided to get out of the business. Mimecast is leading edge and can do things that other vendors cannot such as their anti-spoofing technology. As is for most organizations, email is extremeley important and we wanted to employ the best in the trade.

Overall, we love the product and the features that it has, especially all the different policies that we can customize. Initial implementation/setup was not up to par with other cloud services we've used. Little to no guidance was provided other than some emails saying what you needed to do. An initial onboarding setup call with a live person would be helpful to run through the setup steps and to answer any questions, but everything went through email which prolonged the setup process.

Mimecast has a wide variety of services outside of a secure email gateway. They have been a great vendor over the past few years and they keep innovating their offerings.

Outstanding spam protection. Immediately had a huge impact on our environment. Tech support is fantastic. They will show you how to setup and configure rules etc. Lots of features (for a price), such as DLP, large file attachment, encryption. We only use the spam portion, but may be adding on the DLP protection in the near future for sensitive documents in e-mails. They help you implement from start to finish. After about 2 weeks we had all settings optimal and I honestly rarely have to touch it. White list etc. can be managed by users either a web console or by an Outlook plug-in drastically cuts down on help desk calls for stuff getting caught or stuff that needs to be blocked.

While I would originally have rated it as excellent, customer support responsive and support staff expertise has declined since our 2011 implementation and is now only average, but functional improvements have been consistent, expansive, and impressive through our relationship which has kept our relationship strong.
