make sure to have a clear scope so you pick the right solution for your needs work cross functional
great spend analytics value for money great support the are closing the loop
create better understanding on the ongoing internal support that is required to improve the solution over the years align the terms used by the business internally with those in the tool
internal support issues are a bigger issues as the suppliers

Relies a lot on the customer to drive the platform, sometimes those resources are not always available.
Get everything in writing, as per any contract. THey are quick to act but don't let them go too far down the road without a check-in of current state.

Would have been very clear about who was doing what. For example, our company carefully managed the input of data but never really turned over the keys to Zycus to manage the information themselves and have us check it.
Like any tool, the customer has to know the keys and how to unlock the full potential.
