SuccessFactors

Great and a complete product suite, but not as well integrated as Workday

We have been using SuccessFactors in a limited capacity for some years. Finally decided to move into the whole HR suite. This is the only full fledged HR SaaS solution for a large global enterprise available today. Workday did not have the learning piece (and also much more expensive even they are the new kid in the block) when we reviewed and the other solutions were either not ready for a global rollout or had subpar functionality. Successfactors has got its own problems, but still, better than the rest.

Solid, proven platform that will get even better as new customizations are deployed.

So far so good, the real test will be this coming year when we deploy the PD and Comp modules. Overall the benefits of a common, cloud based platform outweigh some of the tradeoffs you make around customization.

Very effective solution for managing cross-functional and internal training

From the end user point of view, the solution has proven to be very useful. Training records and managing of cross-functional training has been quite powerful. The ability to easily find training programs of interest has been better than other systems tried. From the manager view, the ability to manage the training program of a N-1 team is quite good, and the alert dashboard is quite simple. Managing of employee performance review and goal setting is quite ok, but not as good as some other systems used previously. It is not intuitive on how to "cascase' goals to a full team as with other systems. But despite that, the results are quite good and the training of teams with cross-functional content is quite successful.

Immature and disparate product with immature integration capabilities.

The product was not nearly mature as we were lead to believe and is a loose coupling of various acquired technologies. We found that many of the promised features and functions were almost there and 'coming in a future release' while the immature integration capabilities make the product difficult to integrate with other solutions. We have also found it very difficult to engage SFSF directly having to go through multiple steps in a ticketing system to answer even basic technical questions.
