Product is great, but does not seamlessly use SAP HR data

    Overall Comment

Salesforce has still issues connecting in a very transparent way with SAP HR

What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

Take a close look at the roadmap and Successfactor's modules implementation strategy. Decide upfront when and how implement Employee Central as a replacement for SAP HR (if you have it)

What do you like most about the product or service?

Ease of configuration and ease of use

What do you dislike most about the product?

Since Sucessfactors has aquired some companies or services, they are still struggling to integrate all the funcionality in a single GUI

What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

Validated previously the interoperability of SAP HR and Sucessfactors

If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

Implement Employee Central since the beginning with a lot more analysis up front

Service & support - overall comment

Since it is a cloud based solution, your needs may be (or not) considered in a next release for which you have no visibility or control

    Product(s): SuccessFactors

Very effective solution for managing cross-functional and internal training

    Overall Comment

From the end user point of view, the solution has proven to be very useful. Training records and managing of cross-functional training has been quite powerful. The ability to easily find training programs of interest has been better than other systems tried. From the manager view, the ability to manage the training program of a N-1 team is quite good, and the alert dashboard is quite simple. Managing of employee performance review and goal setting is quite ok, but not as good as some other systems used previously. It is not intuitive on how to "cascase' goals to a full team as with other systems. But despite that, the results are quite good and the training of teams with cross-functional content is quite successful.

What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

Examine where it fits into your strategy. If offers a lot of capabiliites, some better than others. In some cases, just becaues it can do somethign doesn't mean you should automatically change.

What do you like most about the product or service?

Ease of viewing upcoming training, user profiles and team training status.

What do you dislike most about the product?

Alignment of goals/performance could be better for cascading between teams.

If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

Verify how far you want to take Success Factors. We have had several starts/stops with the system which has led to some user confusion.

Service & support - overall comment

Product roll-out took longer in some cases than planned, and some modules were staged, but the stage took longer. But overall, it works well.

    Product(s): SuccessFactors

Immature and disparate product with immature integration capabilities.

    Overall Comment

The product was not nearly mature as we were lead to believe and is a loose coupling of various acquired technologies. We found that many of the promised features and functions were almost there and 'coming in a future release' while the immature integration capabilities make the product difficult to integrate with other solutions. We have also found it very difficult to engage SFSF directly having to go through multiple steps in a ticketing system to answer even basic technical questions.

What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

Ensure that the maturity of the modules you are implementing meets your needs today and are not elements coming in a future release.

What do you like most about the product or service?

The core product works well and meets our expectations.

What do you dislike most about the product?

The immature internal integration of the modules and the lack of reliable integration API's or a roadmap for development of their API's.

What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

Provided a more realistic view of the maturity of the overall product, while there are certain mature modules, many are recent acquisitions that have not been fully integrated to the core platform.

If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

We would likely had a separate statement of work around integration as this was much more difficult than we were lead to believe and we would have contracted directly with SuccessFactors for implementation services instead of using a third party vendor (which introduced significant delays in answering basic questions from SFSF).

Service & support - overall comment

Access to SFSF for support is done through a ticketing system adding layers of complications and steps when trying to deal with critical issues.

Integration & Deployment - Overall comment

The integration we have attempted is still not complete primarily due to issues between the SFSF and SAP products, you would expect that the provided integration modules for each product would work well together but the lack of an overarching data standard leads to numerous integration problems.

What do you like most about the product or service?

Stop selling once implementation started. Although I understand they are in the business of selling.

Out-of-box integration and mapping simplifies the overall project work.

    Overall Comment

Very good experience. Vendor was helpful in clarifying its vision and roadmap. Lack of clarity in product pricing originally, due to bundled components.

What do you like most about the product or service?

    SaaS and comprehensive of functionalities.

What do you dislike most about the product?

    Pricing and implementation headaches.

What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

Clarity on pricing, better support for benefits enrollement.

    Product capabilities - overall comment

Very happy with the comprehensive capabilities this product offers. Also because our legacy product is SAP ECC/HCM, this simplifies the data conversion.

Service & support - overall comment

We are an exising SAP shop, very much familiar with their support. SF is similar to any other SaaS vendor with regards to service and support, bit more responsive than traditional SAP support.

Integration & Deployment - Overall comment

No issues or concerns with integration and interoperability. The out-of-box tool, Boomi was easy to implement and configure.
