Bloomberg offered a a great partnership in service offerings, user/service experience, and price negotiations.

Had a competing product which was not as good as bloomberg. Greatly improved researching, attribution and return.

Implementing AIMS was a relatively painless process for a project of this size. The compliance module is robust and allows for complex rules creation based on a variety of triggers. Alerts can be set pre-trade, post-trade, and/or End of Day. However, supporting this application was not as straightforward. It was very difficult to interface directly with the required teams at BBG to resolve feed and other issues as they use a gatekeeper support model. In addition, getting data out of the system to memorialize in our internal datawarehouse has been a very large painpoint. The canned reports are running on antiquated infrastructure and severely cap the number of rows returned. They are not designed for large report runs. BBG also provides data extracts in a relatively unfriendly XML format with no ability to customize without funding a special project with their developers.
