    Product(s): Imperva Incapsula WAF

    Easy implementation with great reporting.

    Overall Comment

    The WAF service was easy to implement (varies based on rules needed) and provides easy to read & informative reports. We have it running in production for almost a year now and have not noticed any outages.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    The WAF is like a standard firewall. If you have complex traffic, then be prepared to spend time setting it up and managing changes.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    The platform is cloud based and managed by the vendor. This saves us time managing hardware and software updates.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    I haven't found anything I don't like about the service yet.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Nothing - works pretty well

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Would have negotiated for a better deal and reached out to more resellers for competitive pricing.

    Works great but not easy to operate.

    The Imperva WAF is great, but very hard to implement and operate. Even the vendor is challenged maintaining, operating and supporting the infrastructure.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Work with existing vendors to consolidate for example Citrix, Fortinet or Imperva.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Works great!

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Very hard to operate.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Interface is very cumbersome and not intuitive at all, needs a facelift!

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Continue to work with the vendor through the implementation and operation.

    Overall, a great product and very easy to work with. Does exactly as advertised and has been a great additon to our perimeter security. Their engineers are very well versed and made the implementation process seamless.

    Make sure to have your security policies in place up front - understand what you are trying to protect before investigating vendors.

    Easy to maintain - doesn't take a ton of resources to keep it running.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    Not much - overall it is a great product.

    Web Application Firewall Security Made Easy.

    Overall Comment

    The product was extremely easy to install and have in protect mode. We evaluated multiple products in this space and it was by far the simplest to stand up and manage. Custom polices/rules were very easy to create, test and put into production.

    What one piece of advice would you give other prospective customers?

    Try standing up a proof of concept without or minimal help from VAR or company to get a feel for the complexity and usability of solutions. I found that having that perspective helped in the decision taking into account managment of the platform after integration.

    What do you like most about the product or service?

    Ease of use, reporting and manageability.

    What do you dislike most about the product?

    User interface.

    What one thing do you wish the vendor did differently?

    Training courses are a bit general and require you to take the administrator course before allowing you to take the web application security specific course.

    If you could start over, what would your organization do differently?

    Have more internal application development teams involved. Create initial rules of engagement for application onboarding and success criteria.
