Performance issues due to scale (large amounts of content and a large number of users). Vendor has been very helpful in helping fix issues, though, so our relationship with the vendor is very good. Some issues with technical documentation not being comprehensive enough. The product is developing rapidly which has been a positive experience.
Understand what you want to achieve and use the capabilities of the tool in the right way. Carefully assess the need for custom development.
Visual authoring experience
Performance when the amount of content grows (though this is to some extent our own fault in how we use the product), certain bizarre bugs.
We did too much customization / custom development which has led to some problems. We also did some other mistakes, like not using the product in the best way (e.g. using "content" vs "pages").
Generally pretty good, except for specific technical issues and bugs it can take time

The Progress Sitefinity team has extended world-class customer satisfaction. Our experience with the customer support and product teams have been overall positive and supportive to the growing needs we require and most of all responsive in a timely manner
Define a clear roadmap of audiences, current state to future state and the expectations of a web application's role to meet the branding and digital strategies a company requires.
The embedded widgets are extraordinarily helpful to faster market penetration and response. The overall flexibility to scale creates dependability for future needs.
More of a challenge is sourcing internal skill development to manage the developments internally as we migrated from a 3rd party resource.
Time is of the essence. Progress' product acquisitions have created a fully bundled capability that will richly enhance the way digital strategies are performed at the developer level and at a strategic level. No reason to look in the past when the future is promising.
Invest in a developer with advanced CMS skill set to optimize the platform's ability more readily and strategically.
We've been pleased with the service and support experienced.
The primary challenge was entry-level to moderate skillset of how the product framework worked.

Working with AmericanEagle.com was a pleasure. They moved the project forward and were very detail-oriented.
Set realistic timelines.
Easy to use and schedule publication.
I wish they would have provided more conservative timeline expectations. We were a little later than anticipated on some stages of the project.
We didn't realize how intensive the project would be. That was primarily related to pulling data out of our previous content management system. We would have allotted more time for the project.
Professional and helpful
