CIO Power Politics: Discover Hidden Agendas [Video]

In this episode, Gartner analyst Tina Nunno unveils two techniques to find out the must-know information.

Rule No. 1 when dealing with “hidden” agendas: It’s not hidden if you’ve never asked what the agenda actually is. It can sometimes be difficult to decipher exactly what a coworker or peer is asking for, but believe it or not, the first step should always be to ask directly. Once you’ve done that, confirm the stated agenda before you take any action.

Tina Nunno, vice president and Gartner fellow, shares her insights and advice from hundreds of client interactions for deciphering the true goals behind a request.
