More months than we would have liked have passed between our last AR Newsletter and this one, so it is with delight that we reconnect again. We have several key topics on which to update you!

Analyst Use of Social Media: Many of you have asked about ways you should be using social media to communicate to analysts. We’ve reached out to one of our own experts on the subject, Jenny Sussin, Principal Research Analyst, who focuses primarily on social for CRM! Jenny will guide you on how to leverage social media as well as Gartner analyst blogs and traditional channels to bring your analyst communications to a new level.

Quoting Gartner Research in Social Media: Keeping with our social theme, Gartner Ombudsman Nancy Erskine provides you with a timely update that you may need to work through the quote policy process in order to quote Gartner in certain forms of social media.

Leverage Your Cool Vendor Designation: Here’s some key ways, again from Nancy Erskine, to leverage your Cool Vendor designation on your website and in marketing collateral.

Recent Mini-AR Forum Held in Windsor, U.K: We recently had the pleasure of hosting a dozen or so Gartner AR clients during a briefing on the topic of Analyst Relations “Best and Recent Practices.” The audience represented clients across IT Services, Software, Hardware and Communications. We had a nice mix of experienced AR professionals and those in an AR role less than three years. We discussed ways to “Optimize Your Relationships With Gartner Analysts”  and “Strategies for Executive-Level AR as Well as Sales Enablement-Focused AR.” We wanted to share the presentations with you with an offer to reach out to your Gartner Account Executives with any interest you might have in these topics as well.

New Analyst Arrivals: Gartner continues to bring on board new additions to the worldwide analyst ranks across key topic and market areas. Since our last newsletter, 22 new members have joined the Gartner Research team. New hires have been added across many coverage areas, including Marketing and Channels, Enterprise Architecture, Information Management, Security and Risk Management, Content and Collaboration, Marketing Leaders, Industries, CSPs, Semiconductors, Data Center, IT Procurement, IT Finance and Supply Chain.
