Dear Colleague:
Greetings! It was indeed a pleasure seeing many of you at our Euro AR Regional Briefing in Egham on 24 September and in Orlando at the Gartner AR Forum on 6 October. In this Newsletter, we point you to the charts from the AR Forum, share an update on the Gartner Copyright and Quote Policy, and present an article from Peggy O’Neil from Informatica on “Embracing Your Cautions” that we think will help AR professionals think differently about the strengths and cautions expressed by Gartner analysts about your company in their written research.
Gartner AR Forum Orlando Charts Posted: Our audience at the AR Forum Orlando heard Gene Hall, Gartner CEO, provide an update on Gartner Inc. for our high-tech clients. Peter Sondergaard shared his updates on Gartner research especially for AR professionals, and as always fielded many of your questions. Nancy Erskine, Gartner Ombudsman, shared an update to the Gartner Copyright and Quote Policy, which we’ve provided for all of you here (link to the Copyright and Quote Policy Article here) who were not at the AR Forum. We then heard from Ken Davis, SVP, Gartner Business and IT Leaders Programs, who wanted to share with the AR Community his perspectives on the importance of Peer Insights — a new Gartner content type — to our high-tech clients. Ken fielded many questions from the audience and during the cocktail reception following his presentation. While we are still processing the videos for future posting, we wanted you to be able to access the charts. Please see the "Forums, Briefings and Webinars" section.
Gartner Copyright and Quote Policy Updated: Nancy Erskine, Gartner Ombudsman, and her team would like the AR Community to receive a copy of the updated policy that she presented at the AR Forum in Orlando. For those of you attending the AR Forum on Barcelona, Nancy will also be on hand to handle any of your questions — live!
Embracing Your Cautions: After debating analyst-expressed cautions about their offerings/company, we’ve seen AR leaders then embrace those cautions, work with analysts to remedy them and see their company growth accelerate. Here we hear from Peggy O’Neil, Senior Director AR at Informatica, describe her perspectives on why it is important for AR leaders to embrace analyst cautions to improve company performance.
New! Gartner Peer Insights: We understand how important it is for you as AR Professionals to be the first to know within your organization about innovations at Gartner, In this newsletter we describe how IT end users are using Peer Insights as a platform to share their ratings of provider software and services and how this new set of insights will benefit high tech providers.
