Google is just copying what Amazon did.

Amazon offers vendors the ability to sell their products online using their platform. This gave them the data to know what products sell and why (what photos are appealing, what descriptions, what titles, etc.).

Then they started selling the most lucrative products themselves.

In the same way, Google indexed and shared website content until they got to know what people were searching and now answers those questions directly = thus why every informational website (hubspot, canva, etc.) has had their traffic tank - especially with the last core update.

They know what people are searching. They know the answers and they now have AI to modify the answer slightly so it's not a copyright issue. And yes it is more accurate (otherwise traffic would not be dropping on all of the informational sites).

This is an interesting question because I'm not sure if the results have changed much, but my perception of the results may have changed because I've been spoiled by ChatGPT.

The initial feedback from ChatGPT 5 has not been universally positive, with users recognizing many of the same errors in GPT 4. Have you had a chance to use it yet? What are your overall impressions?

What is the general community sense of TikTok out there these days?

We opted to block it from our corporate devices and networks prior to the official US Government ban both from an infosec perspective, and also to avoid the politics of its use. Our marketing department has pushed several times to have some controlled access because they believe it can be used as a recruiting tool. So far they have not challenged this with any credible data to back that belief up, but we will be re-engaging with them on this topic again soon and expect more pressure.

I'm curious what the general perception is out in the community? Have you encountered any credible information security threats or has this "threat" been revealed to be a political paper one? I'm not seeking recommendations for what we should do, more to gauge what others are doing and how you're basing your decision.
