This is an important topic that I enjoy keeping up with in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for BI updates. During my 6 years BI analyst experience I've participated in training for Power BI and Tableau, and I have experimented with both tools. I answered Power BI on this survey, mainly because I like the functionality for developing visualizations that are aesthetically-pleasing, well-organized, and informative. I know a number of BI analysts who have an equally-strong preference for Tableau. Both tools are capable. The choice of one versus the other comes down to personal preference in my opinion.

I'm looking to create a brochure-style overview of all data points available in our platform for downstream products, separate from our packaged data products. Does anyone have examples or templates that show how each might be presented to data consumers? I'm also curious what level of detail strikes the right balance between being informative and avoiding unnecessary noise.
