This is a hard question to answer without a lot more details however, at the macro level, the biggest disadvantage to on premises hardware/software is that without a budget and the expertise to ensure hardware/software is properly taken care of throughout its lifecycle (patching, upgrading, recapping, etc.) you might find yourself with out-of-date hardware/software that is vulnerable to cyber attacks or general failure.  In many cases, you can eliminate many of these risks by choosing a commercial cloud implementation.  When considering on premises versus commercial cloud, do a thorough business case analysis of the full life cycle costs for your implementation over the projected lifetime of that service or capability.
