We’re currently exploring options to implement an iPXE-based WinPE deployment solution in Microsoft Azure. Our goal is to streamline OS provisioning for virtual machines using cloud-hosted boot scripts and WinPE images, ideally over HTTP/S for performance and flexibility. Key requirements: Must support iPXE booting in Azure (via ISO, custom VM image, or chainloading). Ability to host and serve WinPE images securely (e.g., via Azure Blob Storage or web server). Cyber Essentials Plus compliance is essential, as we operate in a regulated environment. Preferably a UK-based provider with experience in secure cloud deployments and endpoint provisioning. We’ve looked into solutions like 2Pint Software’s iPXE Anywhere, but we’re open to other vendors or managed service providers who can assist with setup, integration, and ongoing support. Has anyone implemented a similar solution or worked with a provider who meets this criteria? Any recommendations or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated.
Looking to understand how organisations are managing operating systems (OS) on public cloud platforms where they also have a private cloud environment, so hybrid cloud. Particularly interested in understanding how organisations handle decision between CSP OS and maintaining consistent OS with on-premise environments.
The poll supports selecting more than one option.
Organisation adopts the CSP-provided OS images for services like AWS - ECS, EKS, GPU, EMR, GCP - Dataproc ( due to agents required to work with CSP control plane )28%
Organisation hardens CSP-provided OS images according to own standards56%
Organisation does not harden CSP-provided OS images and relies on hardening done by CSP28%
Organisation does not adopt CSP-provided OS. ( Not sure how organisation would use more complex services such as EKS, EMR, ECS, without challenge of baking in agents )28%
For simple compute scenarios the organisation uses OS image consistent with private cloud and either brings own image or bases off CSP marketplace 17%
Organisation does not look to maintain an OS image consistent with private cloud11%

From the given list Nutanix, but overall Azure Stack HCI is a great product, I highly recommend it.
