Has anyone implemented a Marketing Chief of Staff role within their Marketing Org structure? If so, can you share typical job functions and responsibilities?

I can share my experience. In our organization, we recently implemented the role of a Marketing Chief of Staff. The role involves a lot of coordination, ensuring that various marketing initiatives align with the company's overall strategy and goals. It's a role that requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as it's pivotal in driving the marketing strategy and operations smoothly.

Hi <mention id="63365b16d3eb54000168c06a" displayname="Jonathan Haysom"></mention> - As the head of marketing operations in my org with a new chief of staff, I'm looking for some insight into role clarity between the two of us so I can make the best recommendations. Both of our roles are new to the organization globally, so we're charting a new course and want to set clear guidelines out the gate. Thanks in advance to you and anyone else who has insight on this!

I am a Chief of Staff/Business manager for Marketing. My distinction across the roles is that I help run the business of Marketing from financial management to analytics and reporting, which frees up my CMO to focus on Marketing. This has served the department well and others have clarity on what we do.
