We have organized our applications into “Product Teams’ – i.e., a grouping of applications by business capability. Within the Product Team, we have IT Product Managers, Product Architects, Systems Analyst, Business Analysts, and we assign a Lead Engineer.

Yes, we do have a product engineer on staff. Their primary role includes overseeing the product development lifecycle, from design to deployment. They work closely with cross-functional teams such as R&D, marketing, and operations to ensure that the product meets both technical specifications and market requirements. Additionally, they are responsible for continuous improvement, addressing technical challenges, and ensuring that our product aligns with customer needs.

Yes, we at ReleaseOwl have product engineers on staff. Their role focuses on:

1. The product engineer takes full ownership of a feature being developed, ensuring they align with business objectives and meet customer needs. They then work with the product manager to create solutioning and prioritization.

2. Once the feature is fully defined, the product engineer hands it off to the engineering team for technical execution who focus on scalability, performance, and implementation.

3. They serve as the primary interface for teams like presales, marketing, and documentation, providing detailed feature insights and ensuring clear communication across departments. If there is no product engineer, it is very hard to keep updating the details to these departments.

Product Engineer is a pivotal role to ensuring a feature is fully visualized in multiple dimensions like tech, marketing etc., in alignment with the broader product vision.
