1. Be credible
2. Be available
3. Be transparent

I believe that there are differents ways of doing so.
However, for me, there are 2 things that are mandatory:
- to work in partnership in order to demostrate that the Finance partner is a persona who promotes the business move forward
- to give insightfull informafion about how the business spend / earn their money

I strive for as much transparency as possible at all times. There are times when we as leaders cannot disclose as much as we'd prefer or would be helpful to the team (i.e. potential M&A, transactions in process, confidential issues, attorney client privilege information, etc). However, when I can be completely transparent, I try to be and also allow the space and safety for the team to raise questions and concerns so that they build trust in my leadership. This trust benefits the team in times when I cannot be as transparent such that they understand why I cannot be as transparent but trust that I am working hard and taking care of the team as best as I can.
