Some ways to maintain customer centricity amid supply chain challenges are to 1) be upfront and honest with your current situation, 2) be rapidly responsive to customer service inquires, and 3) offset as many of the constraints as possible with creative solutions...ie, alternative sourcing, assortment substitutions, or unique delivery options. The best approach would be forecasting demand patterns and proactively approaching customers vs dealing with the optics of being reactive.
My peers have offered good suggestions. I would add that no level of sophisticated IT systems or AI-generated solutions will ever replace the relationship you have with clients. The ability to communicate effectively, be transparent, strengthen strategic partnerships, nurture healthy collaborative relationships, and engage in person to address concerns, issues, and risks. Digital solutions are essential, but the expertise of practitioners and professionals to dive into customer-centricity is a quality that is never outdated and often overlooked.
