Does your organization provide any fun social/networking opportunities for remote teams (e.g., virtual classes, online gaming sessions, etc.)? Can you share an example?

Yes – we have social events online. There are many companies out there that can host an online party for you. We have done it in-house and have used a 3rd party. To be honest, the third party ones are better, as they can get the employees online engaged. These events have ranged from a magic show to a pub quiz, where the employees are divided up into groups.

Our company is remote first and we are very active on virtual employee engagement events. We hold 1-2 events monthly and are a mix of engagement, DEI, and wellness events that are available company-wide. For monthly events we have utilized a wide variety of vendors from dumpling making, learning to compost, trivia, heart health talks, tax 101 speakers, etc. For some of the smaller groups, we have been able to hold events such as virtual escape rooms, or bring a goat to your virtual meeting, etc that are more niche and ability to bring the teams together. For company-wide events to celebrate holidays, we have brought illusionists, comedy groups, dueling pianos, etc. Hope this helps!

We  dont do socials on line

but what we do is introduce some gamification into our bigger formal online meetings . So the quarterly all hands meeting is on line and  has a interactive quiz at the start ( generally  work related questions)  and the winner gets a reward .  Its short but popular since its  the rare chance for the lowest employee to win against the most senior
