Greetings! I’m currently out of the office, exploring the wilds of cuba , where the Wi-Fi is scarce and the adventures are plentiful. I’ll be back on xxx, full of stories and ready to swap emails. Until then, hold the fort and remember: 'Not all those who wander are lost.' – J.R.R. Tolkien.
I started my career on the Help Desk, got a call from a very concerned manager one day that he'd just received an out of office from a member of the team "I'm on leave, you're not. HAHAHA"
A little bit of digging showed him this was a custom response for his team only, responses from customers/the rest of the org had a more professional one.
The manager hatched a plan that he was going to have some fun when the worker came back and pretend that he'd got the messages around the wrong way.
It's been 20 years and that still sticks with me.
I saw this one once, which made me chuckle.. Gone to chase the sun. If you find it, please let me know. Back to reality on (xxxxx). Until then, soak up the rays!
