Has anyone heard, or had any security issues with Data Centre Confluence? Are there any other products that work well with Atlassian Jira Service Management for Knowledge bases (that may be recommended to use instead of Confluence)?

Microsoft share-point and slack are most relevant alternate of Atlassian Jira Service for knowledge bases. It is highly used by engineering group of organisation. I also had opportunity to work on these platform couple of years to support the business.

Yes, we are using ServiceNow tool for the moment along with Jira Service Management.

You can use wiki.js or Microsoft SharePoint and integrate also with one note for documentation.

Data Centre Confluence is a robust system with a very secured database. With my experience so far, I have not experienced any security issues.

In the absence of Confluence, a number of our sub teams have used Microsoft Sharepoint as an alternative to project management and keeping an administrative control over the development.

As stated in other comment I would also recommend Zendesk Guide.
