The Salient Point: Special Edition

Salient's New Suite Enhances Collaboration

Recognizing customers' needs to democratize the use of intelligence both inside and outside of traditional organizational boundaries, Salient announced its Collaborative Intelligence Suite V 5.0, a new standard for user-driven investigation, discovery and communication across the entire organization and beyond. The new Suite was launched on March 1, 2012.

V.5.0 is based on Salient's visual data mining solution, an investigative paradigm that puts the specific user in immediate control of all possible data relevant to any given situation, with graphical tools to rapidly identify and drill into outliers within the patterns and trends. The user can then bring in contextual information to complete the analysis and share the intelligence with colleagues and others across widely dispersed collaborative communities.

A varied toolset provides access to suit the user's skills and information needs. From deep-dive analytics to drillable dashboards running on laptops, tablets and smart phones on both cloud-based and local networks.

Superior Scalability & Optimal Performance for Big Data

Salient's ETL draws from any data source, while its in-memory DMPP (Distributed Massively Parallel Processing) analytical database provides instantaneous access to massive integrated data sets by distributing the load across many commodity (PC) servers.

Enhanced User Experience

One of the groundbreaking new features of Salient's Collaborative Intelligence Suite is "Storyboards," a formal series of documented analytics that allow for the transfer of business management processes from one person to another or throughput the entire organization. This helps colleagues duplicate an analytical process without the technical expertise or the need to recreate the same process.

Synchronous Drilling: Salient's desktop client now allows users to drill synchronously (without changing context) on multiple analytical views (tables or graphical charts showing comparisons, shares, distributions, exceptions, trends).

"The Salient 5.0 Suite represents a major shift in emphasis from individual analysis to a truly collaborative environment," says Guy Amisano, Salient CEO. "Everyone can have the information they need at their fingertips and at all times, and it's shareable and usable everywhere. It's in the format they want and on the device most convenient to them. Any question can be answered in seconds."
