I think it will depend on how this data collection is presented to those customers.
If they benefit from it (better support, personalized advises, target products, GUI personalization, etc.) they will be inclined to consent to the collection.
But it is also true that former ways of building a CRM is no more compliant, so doing the same we have done in past, will fail because of regulations.

I disagree because as I discuss our approach to Know Your Customer.  I am getting more and more interest from retail and healthcare.  So I am not sure where the 80% abandonment rate is coming from or maybe I haven't seen the entire context of the survey.
