What is the importance of observability in any enterprise level application landscape having multiple applications being used for external and internal customers and deployed across multi-cloud deployments from on-prem to different clouds ?
Looking at Databricks as an option, we've been advised that Databricks is cloud agnostic, but does seem used quite a lot in cloud native services? This would suggest that any Databricks solution is not easily portable between cloud providers. Does anyone have any experience/knowledge on how easy (or not) it is to migrate Databricks between cloud providers?

There is no absolute answer to this question. Overall, the cost drivers on their side are pretty similar, the technologies are similar, so at the end of the day the pricing model and pricing levels are similar as well. Of course YMMV from workload to workload, but ultimately which is least or most expensive will mostly depend on how good *you* are at a) negotiating a discount rate, linked to your level of spending and b) making effective use of the many "reserved resource" / upfront payment / committed spending mechanisms.
