This is highly dependant on the size of the firm and IT group. When you are a $40 billion dollar 130k employee company you have enough diversity in the IT skills that complexity can be managed or tolerated. If your IT team is only 10 people, it's not likely you will have all the skills needed in a highly complex configuration, unless you outsource, but that outsourcing will be expensive which again, not good for a small firm.

My team supports Data Warehouses and Data Lakes in Azure, AWS and On-Premise. Is there any software that would allow our data analysts to get access to these data stores through the software itself rather than having to navigate the different nuances of each data technology? Im thinking some software where we could manage security and accessibility in one place while also allowing data analysts to do their job from a single location. Does that make sense?
