24 hours is much too long for an initial response time. There should be an automated legal intake workflow management system for both internal (legal department) and external (other departments) inquiries. This system should route requests and generate an initial acknowledgment. Otherwise, the legal team will be fielding calls and emails to follow up on inquiries.
