I was one of the 14% of contrarians who don't use note taking apps. And I would like to explain why even though I beleive and defend note taking is both a personal learning style as well as a taught practice. 
I also realise that list and note taking is one of the major drivers of the app growth. But I also find, as a personal choice, that note taking is a relic of 20th century rationalism and I have found note taking (as well as email organisation and archiving) to be a business practice that is no longer capable (regardless of app) to find and recall knowledge with the velocity and context switching of the digital era.
In lieu of note taking and individual-control over classification, synthesis and retention I have for a few years now abandoned the practice in favour of leveraging SEARCH. As COMPUTE and LLMs enter the scene, the SEARCH capabilities have reached the point where I find there is simply no need to capture knowledge, organise mail, cultivate communities or record personal notes with rare exceptions.
Instead I rely on purpose-built or embedded technology to drive digital capability that is fit for the 21st century. And these are the digital capabilites I consider important, that we build toward, and shift user behaviour toward:

COMPUTE: The cloud helps us solve problems with a power that can scale up or down as needed and can be done from anywhere, by anyone in the ecosystem without worrying about where the data is.
CONNECT: Digital organisations enable members of an Ecosystem (both friend and foe) to publish and discover data and services to enable the flow of knowledge across the ecosystem for the benefit of all partners.
COLLABORATE: Digital solutions intelligently connect people, even across different communities by automatically making it easy to find and enter and connect to new communities and knowledge pools.
KNOWLEDGE CAPTURE: Digital organisations and platforms capture both formal information and also informal dialogue in such a way as to digest and propose relationship making and data connection across knowledge pools (via COMPUTE obviously)

These are only 4 of what I consider digital capability necessary for the 21st century but are at the heart of knowledge management.
I know I broadened the scope of the survey by taking the discussion to knowledge management, but I do see the change management effort in bringing people out of 20th century pen-to-paper individual archive knowledge management to the true potential of the era. No, I don't believe we are genetically constrained to 20th century models or that the printing press was the one technology innovation that humans (and humanist humans) finally achieved and can never evolve past.
