2025 is almost here - if you had a crystal ball to forsee the future, what would you see coming?  With political crisis, economic turmoils and environmental challenges around the world, how do you prepare yourself? In my opinion, 2025 will be a year of transformation. AI will be more and more present in our life, bank will have to face an increased competition from FinTech and GAFAM alike players. 2025 will be a continued modernization journey further into the digital age. the use of GenAI and other embedded AI capabilities from our vendor community will undoubtedly lead to productive gains and efficiencies, however, as many in the CIO community can attest to, A lot of us have been inundated with AI and all of the capabilities and drive of this technology from our various vendors and partners, as well as the challenges that are arising from data privacy concerns, fear or increased errors, selective acceptance, and lastly, with multiple channels pushing Ai and its capabilities, we risk declining optimism and increased skepticisms. I for one am looking forward to contributing to these discussions.

2025 will be the end of a lot of entry level service desk jobs. I have been amazed at how helpful ChatGPT has been for technical support I personally have needed on Excel, Outlook, Teams, and all other work applications as well as home support for my Ford F350 truck, RV, tools, my farm equipment

I am interested in people who have tried generative AI coding projects.  In your experience, are there project attributes that make generative AI coding capabilities a "good fit"?  Are there project attributes that are likely indicators that generative AI will not result in something useful?  I would think complexity of requirements is a big factor.  If the complexity of the project or its requirements is low - I assume genAI coding can get you within the ballpark.  For instance, logic stores: if your project has critical business logic spread out all over the place and not centralized I think that generative AI would not be able to make sufficient sense of that.

Do you often wait for direction from business leaders before engaging your IT function? How can IT leaders break free from being in “wait and see” mode?

When your company executes on full DC migrations. Moving from 1 physical DC to another one.  Which alternative is most used?  1. Re-allocate IP addresses and re-configure applications / systems, so called greenfield or 2. Move IP's, using L2 extensions, so called lift & shift, no changes for application.
