Alongside velocity, I track lead time, cycle time, and defect rate to gauge delivery efficiency and quality. I also monitor team predictability (commitment vs. completed work) and flow efficiency to reveal bottlenecks. Finally, team satisfaction and stakeholder feedback help balance productivity with morale—because sustainable performance comes from motivated, learning teams.

velocity trend

The other metrics could be like 1.) The amount of feedback at demos that are causing rework and refactoring. This determines how best you have groomed the features / user stories and developed acceptance criteria to define done. 2.) Number of defects

I am the business analysis chapter lead in Anadolu Insurance, claims tribe. I am having a hard time tracking the quality of business analysis activities. For now, we are tracking via Jira or via surveys (for customer satisfaction). But, as you can guess, these KPIs are not compatible with Agile: scope creep rate, missing analysis deviation, and customer satisfaction. As some traditional forecasting models are less reliable due to geopolitical tensions and regulatory uncertainty, what novel metrics or frameworks are you using to demonstrate IT value and progress?

We are planning to migrate from Cherwell (ITSM) to FreshWorks (FreshService & FreshDesk) and I am looking for feedback and guidance on your experiences. We are currently planning to use Flycast as our implementer. We hope to stick to the out of the box processes as much as possible; very interested in where you decided to deviate or heavily configure changes.
