Don't be irrational and don’t try to take advantage of the situation. It's an opportunity for both employers and employees. People need to be very mindful of why they are changing their job. Work-life balance is a very important factor but if you are an outsider, it is very difficult to predict whether you will get a good work-life balance in a new organization or not. Beyond that, there are three factors:
1) People
Figure out if you are surrounded by bright and supportive people, who appreciate you for your work.
2) Work
The work you do is the most important element. Always try to look out for work that improves you as a professional and makes you future-ready.
3) Money
If you are not getting paid as per your skill, then there is no point to continue.
If you are in technology, try to keep yourself updated. Technologies like IoT, datalakes and microservices will have long-term relevance. There is a shortage of good-quality resources, so focus on skills as per the market demand.
Be patient and weigh your options before leaving. Never try to take the easy way out, peservernce pays off in the long run.
If you do decide to leave, make sure your next job shares your values, vision and goals.
