Hi, we share client segmentation across whole company and various services are utilized, handled or prioritize according to the customer segment.
Customer segmented is determined through annual revenue + expected business potential.
Additionally also prospects are segmented through business potential.

Yes, Customer Segment wise resource allocation is essential/important as to ensure maximizing the revenue from segment/s. 
Each customer segment have different needs, potential,requirements and demands. "One size fits all" approach doesn't work if we need to better understand, which segment is the most profitable for us. 
Targetting the most profitable segment requires segment wise knowledge and understanding. Segment wise potential mapping and value share is the key, followed by focused approach/strategy, resourse allocation, developing & supporting resourse to ensure, we are just not only targetting the most profitable segments but maximizing returns.
