Who has already started using Microsoft Fabric? I would like to get some feedback from companies that are currently using MS Fabric as an end-to-end analytics platform: - Azure data factory with fabric? - Purview from fabric as data catalog? - Feedback from several personas using the same platform (data scientists/data engineers/Business analysts). How and when did start a PoC? Are you using Fabric for both BI and advanced analytics use cases?

My team has implemented ADF, Synapse, Fabric during the last 10+years. I can connect you with my Data and analytics practice lead to provide a in-depth analysis on this front.
At W&M we are just starting a MS Fabric pilot. Our intent is to prove out the platform and understand capabilities to govern data and deliver BI and advanced analytics in a shared platform that also supports sandboxes for data exploration.
Barbara Forth, could you share the outcome of your evaluation?
We are going to start a POC soon to compare MS Fabric vs Snowflake vs Azure Databricks
any insights you can share.. thankyou
Any updates on the POC?
Thanks!
We are currently evaluating MS Fabric with pre-defined Use-Cases, collected within a Testers community. Purview has been assessed ~6month ago and is out of scope for us.
In scope are standard BI and advanced analytics, ML use-cases as we created a very managed environment with Azure Services+Databricks which comes quite close to MS Fabric as SaaS offering.
We adressed the topic and opportunity in some councils with business involvement and asked if they want to actively contribute (and provide use-cases) or just want to be informed about the results.
We see it as very important to have the whole initiative centrally governed by IT, but support the heavy and early interest of our business.
Dear Sascha,
based on your evaluation, could you please share which are the wider gaps of functionalties you found in MS Fabric? Specifically, how are you implementing Data Governance with Fabric?
We use MS Fabric for BI mostly, I can provide insights
