When migrating to a leased datacenter, public organizations should plan meticulously—start with a full asset inventory, clear governance, and risk mapping. Use phased migrations with rollback plans, and test all dependencies, especially authentication and network services. Strong vendor coordination, stakeholder communication, and post-migration monitoring are key to ensuring continuity, compliance, and security.

We successfully completed two data center migrations to Co-Lo facilities. While the physical relocation was executed flawlessly thanks to a well-coordinated team that ensured uninterrupted workloads, our biggest challenge stemmed from delays by the telecommunications providers in installing the necessary circuits on schedule.
