Our factors are cybersecurity and cloud computing related. We are seeing increases in both lines as we compete our end-to-end MDR and migration to cloud computing.

In our case, subscription contracts for software suites such as ERP, CRM, or Data Analytics in the cloud are the primary cause of the significant budget increase in 2024, with cybersecurity also contributing.

We have to adjust the salary allocation of our budget significantly.  For us to retain our IT employees and to be able to recruit new employees we must adjust the baseline of many of our IT starting positions, this in turn has a domino effect.

Most of the application team I lead is in Brazil and the global IT leadership (US-based) now wants to move some of that work to a new global delivery center in India to be more cost effective, but I have doubts. The Brazil team is delivering good quality — is cost efficiency enough reason to relocate the work? What are the biggest pros/cons we need to consider?
