Chief Information Technology Officer in IT Services, 201 - 500 employees
Work/life balance and trust
CTO in Education, 1,001 - 5,000 employees
Hours, flexibility to work remotely, competitive packages and benifets, appreciation and showing gratitude to results, and team spirit
CEO in Services (non-Government), Self-employed
Not knowing the specifics of who you need to hire I would say show them what their future holds based on if they are hired today (perks and befits..) and are successful. Being realistic about the future helps to set expectations and build trust there is a future with the company.
CIO in Education, 1,001 - 5,000 employees
Patience, persistence, and being able to sell the value of your company and the position for which you're hiring. Certainly pay and location flexibility will be part of the discussion regardless.
