How is AI implementation impacting your organization’s cyber insurance premium or coverage so far?

So far, not at all, as AI was assessed using the same traditional measures (e.g., risk management and DLP) without any specific adjustments for the risks associated with AI. I expect this to be different in 2026.

That is a great question, unfortunately, I don’t have information on that topic as I am working on our 2026 cyber insurance application right now. So, I won’t know how it will affect us until late this year. I will pass on that the application I am filling out appears to be the same as last year and does not have a single AI related question on it. Same data security and security systems and security program related questions, but nothing specifically about AI that I have seen yet.

The insurer might consider that the existing questions related to all our vendors and record counts covers the risks, and in a way it does. Although, it is a bit surprising they don’t ask about AI governance and security because it can lead to increased risk exposure. I will try and update this if it is noted or makes a difference this year.
